Introduction to Flights

The Flights section provides users with all of the information they need for their flights. Users will receive alerts of this information directly to their device:

  • 24 hours before - A notification to draw attention to the flight service and status
  • 3 hours before - A notification to confirm if flights are on time or if there are any changes
  • Notifications of delays or changes in flight time, including cancellations, as they happen
  • Departure gate alert once it is set (note that not all airports support this)
  • Arrival welcome message at the destination airport
  • Notification of baggage reclaim details (when available)

Adding a flight

  • To add a flight go to your Vamoos List and open or create a trip, select Flights from the left-hand side menu

  • Here you can add a flight using the + New Flight button

  • Next type in the airline code, flight number and date and press Search to look up your flight on the database

  • When you have found the flight, tick the box next to it and press Add Flight to add it to this trip

TOP TIP: if adding flight with stopovers, be careful to select the correct record as it will show options for the total journey or each leg separately.

Manually adding private or charter flights

  • Our flight tracker shows IATA-registered commercial flights. If you want to add private or charter flights, you can do these manually

  • Flight Number
  • Flight Date
  • Departure and Arrival airports (using their IATA or ICAO codes)
  • Departure and Arrival terminal (if appropriate - not required)
  • Departure and Arrival time (these are local times at each destination)

FAQs

  • Q: Are flight notifications available offline?
A: No, flight notifications do require internet to come through

  • Q: What do I do if I can't find my flight on the Vamoos Portal?
A: We use a third-party commercial IATA registered database, so if the flight you are searching for does not show on our system and it is not an IATA flight you can add it manually.

  • Q: How can I find the IATA or ICAO code of the airport when manually adding a flight?
A: You can look up the airport codes online, try using a website like world-airport-codes.com

  • Q: I don't know the flight number for my private flight, what do I do?
A: If you don't know the assigned flight number of your private or charter flight, you can just enter a dummy number in the box, you need to add a flight number to submit.

  • Q: Is the flight linked to a PNR, so if cancelled and rebooked, will this automatically show?
A: No, our flight tracker is linked to schedule only and not PNR, if the flight is cancelled & rescheduled you'll need to add the new details yourself.
